What should I expect the weather to be like in Las Vegas and Grand Canyon next week?

What should I expect the weather to be like in Las Vegas and Grand Canyon next week?

We will be in Las Vegas on the 5th-6th. Driving to the Grand Canyon on the 7th. We are hiking to the bottom on the 8th, coming up on the 9th, then staying another night at the rim. I'm guessing the weather is going to be all over the place. Warm in LV, cold on rim and possibly warm in the canyon???? Can anyone give me advice on what to pack and when to wear what? I live in southwest alabama. I'm cold natured...not used to frigid temperatures. I have camped in below freezing weather before...not sure why.
