What would happen to the Earths weather if the moons weight would alter.?

I don't know if it's true or not,but I read that we are going to build and populate the moon.Would this alter our weather and what would happen to the earth with this change in the moons weight?

Yes there would be changes most notably in the tide if the Moon gained or lost Mass (Weight and Mass are different) But rememeber we are talking about mass changes on a Planetary scale. Human colonization would add mass but not enough to change the Moon's mass enough to cause a discernable change. Also something that should be noted is that the moon is moving away from the Earth (at a extremely slow rate) and this does change the Moon's effect on the earth since it's gravitational forces exerted on the Earth are weakened

I'm not quite sure how to answer but maybe I can help a bit? First off, the moon doesn't weigh anything. It's in a vacuum, so it...doesn't weigh at all.

I'm pretty sure nothing would happen. Our tides may differ but that's it? Heh. Mumbo jumbo with the gravitational pull--Maybe I should get smarter before I answer another question. ^-^

EDIT: As the guy below me said, the earth is moving away slowy. About an inch a year. =P
