| It is that time of year when the sun can make it uncomfortably warm, while in a matter of minutes a wind with the cold breath of winter may blow through your clothes.
Always have a sweater or light coat nearby. Even if you’re only going on a day hike in good weather, it can turn quickly.
For the most part I keep warm by exercise. After being indoors during winter there are plenty of chores (Gardening, firewood, and painting) and activities (running, biking, and hiking) that I like to do that will keep a body warm.
I cool off by removing layered clothing. Try to stay in the shade during the hottest parts of the day, or at least wear a wide brim hat that protects my face and shoulders.
Keep hydrated. Drink before you get thirsty. Water is best for you. For every cup of coffee or soft drink you should drink a glass of water. Your body will require even more if you are having alcohol. |
