Breastfeeding: is the damage already done just from the milk coming

in..weather you breastfeed or not? I have a friend who doesn't want to breastfeed just because she doesnt want her boobs to get saggy, or get stretchmarks from getting all filled with milk...so she is not going to breastfeed in order to save her breasts. I told her that whether she does or not, milk will come in in the beginning and stretch her boobs anyway, and basically whatever damage will already be done so she might as well breastfeed. Am I right, or will it really make a difference to not breastfeed and save the boobs?

This is one price we have to pay for having our children. And not everyone gets saggy boobs, just advise to wear a good supportive bra.

Pregnancy, hormonal changes, and genetics determine whether breast will sag or not. Breastfeeding has nothing to do with it.

You are right. I read this article that said the damage is done by pregnancy, not breastfeeding. My breasts grew several sizes while I was pregnant and I got stretch marks on them.

that is an extremely selfish reason for not wanting to breastfeed. boobs grow during pregnancy,so she's SOL for not wanting stretch marks. and if she isn't wearing good supportive bras they'll sag anyways. breastfeeding has sooo many benefits for baby and her. if she's so concerned about her looks, tell her breastfeeding makes you loose weight faster.

It is her choice, she is obviously more obsessed with her body than her babies health - let her find out on her own if she is doomed from the get go.

Perhaps your friend should be more concerned with the health of her baby than her breasts.

Breastfeeding doesnt "damage" your boobs.

Stretch marks are generally hereditary. Either you are going to get them, or youre not.

And eventually gravity is going to catch up with your boobs and get the best of them. Show me an older lady with perky boobs!

Breastfeeding doesnt have much to do with it, one way or the other.

Pregnancy is the culprit, not the breastfeeding. In fact, I enjoyed the extra perkiness I had while breastfeeding!!

Pregnancy, not breastfeeding, makes your boobs sag. The damage is done regardless, and it has nothing to do with the baby's milk.
