Can you fly the American flag on an unlit flagpole, and in any weather conditions?

I heard that you could fly the flag all the times regardless of weather or lightning conditions, but I want to make sure before I offend anyone. My company just put up two new flag poles at our building, electric can not be run out there. Do we have to run them up the pole and down everyday?

The flag should not be flown at night unless illuminated, but any kind of weather is ok. Up and down everyday? yep !

The flag should not be up at night unless it is illuminated. Weather should be fine. Just make sure that you have the right size and type of material for the weather at hand. When I was younger, a large, heavy flag was left out in a violent rain storm. It absorbed so much water that it became quite heavy and bent the flagpole.
Also! Do not let the flag get too ragged. My father, an Army officer, has gone to businesses a couple of times and has told them to replace their flags because they looked horrid. I don't know if they ever did, but it did offend him.
