| you dont nessicarilly need tones of layers of clothing. but you will need to wear a few layers. i havent been camping in canada befor but ive been camping in the cold and know basics of what you need. for footwear wool socks are great maybe a polypropoline liner to deal with the sweet your feet give off. make sure your shoes are water proof or really water resistant because if you get your feet wet you will be cold and you will be miserable. so make sure you try to keep your feet warm. snow boots are good if theres snow on the ground or if its wet because they keep your feet dry really well. as for your shirt and pants you should have a layer of longjohns, underarmer, or somehting of that nature on first against your skin. then i would advise you wear a warm long sleave shirt and a warm pair of pants. for pants ive always liked jeans but the problem with jeans is that if they get wet you will be introuble becuase they take a long time to dry and could make you miserable during that time. over the long sleave shirt you could wear like a micro fleece and then like a normal fleece depending how cold its gets. A deffinat is a wool hat. you need to keep you head warm. you lose most of your heat though your head. make sure the wool hat covers your ears as to keep them warm too. you should also bring along at least 1 pair of gloves. i usually bring 2. and light pair where im able to move my hands and be able to do most things in them. and a heavery bunlky pair which will keep my hands warmer then the other pair but it is difficult to do tasks with because of the size of the fingers. mittens are also good to because their suppose to keep your hands warmer than gloves. but ive never used a pair on mittens so i cant say if thats true. you should wear a heavy winter coat one that is sutable for the temperature at which you are camping. and if there is snow on the ground you might be interesting in wearing snow pants as to help keep you warm and dry. the main thing in this is to keep dry because if you get wet then you will be freezing. and this includes sweeting too. is may sound weird saying that you will sweet in tempuratures that cold but you can. just try your best to stay dry or youll be miserable. at night when you sleep make sure you have a warm sleeping bag that is approprate for the tempurature at which your camping and keep your sleeping stuff dry. you dont want to sleep in a wet sleeping bag and wet cloths. you should cover your head somehow at night i always found it easir to go to sleep wearing my wool hat because it kept my head warm during the night and i was warm with it. a tip is to put your cloths for the nexyt day in your sleeping bag at night so you body heat warms them up for the morning and your not putting on freezing cloths. Thats what you can wear on a cold campout. but before you pack all that stuff i would just say make sure you pack as for the tempuratures outside. you side it was going to be freezing out. the freezing your taling about is it 32 degrees is it like 40 degrees or is it like below 20 degrees. if i knew that i would be able to help you out better. like ive said ive never been to canada before but ive been camping in the cold so here is what i know. |
