When you were growing up did you have a zany local tv weather person.....?

We had Marcia Yockey. She always wore a pony tail and was with two local tv stations for 35 years, until she retired in 1988. She was a hoot!! Everyone loved Marcia. Once she came on the set riding a horse. She was known on an occasion or two, to come on set a tad bit tipsy. She would dress up for the holidays, as Statue of Liberty for the 4th of July, etc. She was one in a million. She did a lot to help local charites including Special Olympics. She was an airplane pilot as well. Sure do miss her!

Well Melvin, anyone that watched Marcia would tell you she could forecast the weather better than all the fancy technology, and by golly she did. Marcia wasn't hired at others are for the way they look on camera but their qualifications. I would have put Marcia up against any of the new meteorologists. The woman might have been zany, but she knew her business.
