"United We Will Grow & Strengthen Together" Courteously yours, Platteville Recorder/Secretary. Larry Catellier Hm/Office # 608-348-7175 Cell # 563-559-0178 Think about it... Competing Constructively By Dr. Robert Schuller "In You, O LORD, I put my trust; let me never be put to shame."-Psalm 71:1 Possibility thinkers thrive on competition; impossibility thinkers quickly and cautiously back away from competition.
What do these impossibility thinkers fear? Are they afraid they will fail? Surely they don't think they can win if they never play the game. How will they ever know who they are if they never enter a competition?
You will never know what your abilities are until you put yourself to the test.
Surrendering to the fear of competition may leave you forever in the dark, unaware of hidden strengths you possess.
Begin by competing against yourself. Set a pride-producing goal to achieve something measurable and worthwhile within a responsible time frame. Now when that's accomplished, compete against that achievement ... set a larger goal. Faith calls you to competition!
Compete against the problems of this life by finding a ministry that will help people triumph over their tragedies.
Compete against mediocrity by committing yourself to excellence and inspiring others around you to artistic effort in their chosen profession and career.
Compete against lethargy by raising your awareness level so that you challenge social and spiritual sickness with a positive faith.
Compete against negative and sinful persons by living such a positive and beautiful life that you shall be a "shining light in a dark world."
As long as you've got the competitive spirit, you are walking the walk of faith and you are alive.
Compete in life today! |
