Wot is the difference between environment & earth science, ecology, geology? I want a job in preserving the environment, examining climate change etc and realise i have to to do a degree (but which one ????)I keep being advised to do different degrees. It looks to me that if i have any of the above i can do these jobs plus some more. Geology seems to pay well and i like the idea of studying volcanoes etc. Does it really make a diffference. Can anyone help me out? Somome threw zoology into the nmix the other day and now Iam bamboozled.I cant seem to find any mterology ones either or does that come under earth sciencecs now. Please dont ask me to speak to mu local uni because its them that have confused me?

Wot is the difference between environment & earth science, ecology, geology? ecology is basicallly the study of how organisms interact with their enviornment. and if you want a job including examining climate changes, then meteorologists is right for you. and preserving the enviornment... hmmm, that's a hard one... earth science is the study of earth and weather, climate, the galaxy or sth like that. since earth science seems to cover them all, i suggest earth science would do every thing...

Wot is the difference between environment & earth science, ecology, geology? I did environmental sciences for my degree and can well recommend it.Ecology is purely related to biology and can be plant, animals insects etc. It's also about how an ecosystem works and the interaction between organisms.Zoology is purely related to the biology of animals.Geology is rock related. So things like how to identify rocks, volcanoes, processes within the earths crust like plate techtonics.Environmental Science/Environmental Science and Earth Science really encompasses ecology, geology, also meteorology, oceanography (marine science),climate change, environmental chemistry, pollution and sometimes things like environmental law, environmental policy, and renewables. Often you'll have a large choice meaning that you can decide to specialise in one area that interests you in your second and third years, or come out with an interest in many areas.A good way that someone described environmental science to me was it's a bit like physical geography, but more sciency. There are also degrees around in meteorology, ocean sciences etc. A very wide choice!!!There's an excellent Environmental Sciences degree at UEA, and also an ocean and metorology degree, and I think also Earth Sciences. There website www.uea.ac.uk/env is a good place to start to look on what sort of things you can study in that type of degree. You should also be able to contact them for a prospectus, and maybe a brochure from the School of Environmental Sciences which will give you more of an idea of what a course offers. You can also do similar degrees at Bristol, Leeds, Edinburgh etc etc, but UEA is the best place in the UK for Environmental Sciences. Hope this helps. Good luck!
