What are the differences in the college degrees of biology, wildlife biology, and zoology?

For example, what sort of specifics do each of these entail? Also, what kinds of different jobs can I get with each degree?Personally, I am interested in animals and conservation.Sorry mighty_power7, I meant to give you a thumbs up. I miss-clicked.

well, each of those majors can have different concentrations. it all depends on what your preference is.my friend is getting a degree in biology - more specifically microbiology. so she's taking classes about viruses, bacteria, and the like.i, on the other hand, am getting a degree in zoology. i have been taking classes more geared to science in the environment - ecology, animal behavior, comparative anatomy, etc.

They are all related in science. Biology is the study of life. Wildlife biology is the study of wildlife, like deer, a variety of birds, etc. and zoology is the study of animals, which you probably want to go into. As far as the degrees go, you would have to research those to see what you find.

I have a biology degree. It is a broad degree, with studies in all areas of biology - zoology, botany, anatomy, embryology, genetics, physiology, microbiology, ecology. Zoology is the specific study of animal biology so you wouldn't deal with plant science as much and would get into more specific courses dealing with animals. Wildlife biology is where you would get into more environmental issues with regard to the animal kingdom. You would study some botany and vegetational analysis methods as these relate closely to animal habitats.I did graduate work in Botany and had to take courses in Plant Autoecology (ecology of individual plant habitats) and Plant Synecology (dealing with plant communities) There are comparable courses in zoology I'm sure. Many wildlife biology majors were in my Botany classes.General biology doesn't get you much - teaching if you get the credential or entrance into graduate school. Zoology and wildlife biology, being more narrow areas of study, have more job opportunities, like working for Fish and Game dept. They are also good prep for graduate studies like veterinary medicine.
